What is Outdoor Air Filter

Outdoor Air Filter

We use the Outdoor air filter to take images or more power. We can observe two separate methods to get more power. One of them is Cold Air Intake and the other is Short Ram Air Intake.

Cold Air Intake

This method aims to change the location of the filter and get a denser and colder air. As long as it is like this, it carries more oxygen. Carrying more oxygen means more combustion and power. Usually, for this, a filter is placed in a cooler, remote place from the engine. Thus, more oxygen is taken. If the placement process is not done correctly, no change will occur, it may even give worse results. If hot air from inside the engine comes into the open air filter, it will take that air, which will reduce its power.

Short Ram Air Intake

In this method, it is to use pipes as short as possible and reduce the friction inside to prevent pressure drop. With high pressure, the air inside becomes stronger as it enters the engine. But there are also things that are not taken into account in this method.

First, the air must be turbulent so that the combustion in the engine takes place in a healthy way. It reaches turbulence with proper mixing of air-fuel and can burn much better. It is necessary to shorten the pipe to avoid turbulence. It may cause the power to decrease, especially at lower revs.

The other thing that is not taken into account and that affects the performance very badly is that a short pipe remains in the engine compartment.
